About TripGuides.in

India's dedicated travel research platform, helping millions of visitors plan informed, meaningful trips to the country's most iconic destinations since 2023.

Our Story

TripGuides.in was founded by a team of passionate Indian travellers who were frustrated by the lack of reliable, well-structured travel information in one place. Too often, visitors to iconic destinations like the Taj Mahal or the Golden Temple would arrive unprepared — unsure of opening hours, entry fees, dress codes, or the best time of day to avoid crowds.

We set out to build a resource that treats every traveller as an intelligent adult who deserves accurate, current, and genuinely useful information. That means going beyond basic facts to include photography tips, weather breakdowns by month, detailed transport options from every major gateway city, local cuisine recommendations, and insider advice gathered from repeated on-the-ground visits.

Today, TripGuides.in covers twelve of India's most celebrated heritage sites and natural landmarks — from the UNESCO-listed Taj Mahal in Agra to the snow-capped meadows of Gulmarg in Kashmir — with every guide written and reviewed by people who have personally spent time at each destination.

Our Mission

Our mission is simple: give every traveller — whether a first-time foreign visitor or a seasoned domestic tourist — the practical knowledge they need to experience India's extraordinary heritage with confidence and ease.

We believe that informed travel is better travel. When you know what to expect — the entry fee, the dress code, the busiest hours, the best vantage point for a photograph — you spend less time guessing and more time actually experiencing the place in front of you.

Our Editorial Standards

Verified Information

Entry fees, opening hours, and contact details are cross-checked against official tourism board sources and the Archaeological Survey of India. We flag any information that may have changed and advise visitors to confirm before travel.

First-Hand Research

Our destination guides are based on direct visits and first-hand research. Photography tips, crowd timing insights, and "what to watch out for" notes come from real experiences at the locations — not copied from other websites.

Regular Updates

Travel information changes — prices rise, rules are updated, new facilities open. We review every guide at least twice a year and update any detail that has changed. Our goal is that no visitor should arrive at a site with stale information.

Responsible Tourism

We are committed to promoting tourism that respects India's heritage, supports local communities, and minimises environmental impact. Every guide includes notes on culturally appropriate behaviour — dress codes at religious sites, rules about photography inside sanctuaries, and guidance on interacting respectfully with local communities.

We encourage visitors to hire local guides, eat at locally owned restaurants, purchase handicrafts directly from artisans, and follow all ASI and state tourism rules at heritage sites. Responsible tourism preserves these extraordinary places for future generations.
